Gorgeous. Love. Amazing. Just a few words that come to mind when I think of the wedding of Matt and Tani. There are so many reasons that I love this couple. I met Tani for the first time exactly one year ago today, as she was the MOH at her friend Meghan’s wedding, which I was also so very lucky to photograph. A few months later, I got to know them better when they walked into my studio and hired me to photograph their wedding. I was super excited! We had an awesome engagement session in San Clemente. I think I still have Tani’s sweater she let me borrow after I rolled around in the water with them! We had dinner and just talked about their wedding. I’m telling you, the greatest part of my job is being able to invest in my couples beyond my contractual commitment. We spend time together, talking and getting to know one another, and when it comes time for the actual day….I feel like I am an old friend, doing the most amazing favor! Tani also had an incredible Boudoir session, and although I would love to show you all those images, they are, for Matt….but again, time together, photographing, talking, laughing…..and connecting. There is no better way to be a wedding photographer than to have a working friendship with your clients. Nothing motivates me more than challenging myself to give my couples what I think are going to be the most amazing photos they will ever take in their entire life. Telling their story, anticipating what will happen, only possible if I invest in getting to know who they are.
Matt and Tani, I know them. I know they are in love, I know Matt adores everything about Tani, and Tani admires and loves him right back. I love seeing them together and I love how Matt watches her. As though she is the only one around….carefully paying attention to her every move. I’m pretty sure Tani is aware of this, and that is why, at every moment, she glances a blush-filled smile his direction….rarely have I seen her look at him without that lil’ grin. These two are in love, and now they are married!
The day was spectacular and unfolded just perfectly as there was an amazing team of wedding professionals keeping it all together. First Melody Walker of Events by Melody, did the greatest job keeping everything on time and creating a timeline that allowed for a stress free opportunity to fully take advantage of the beautiful location taking couples portraits. She was professional and organized and made this day seamless for Matt and Tani. Marisa with Empora Floral Designs, words can not describe how incredible her work is. She doesn’t just choose flowers, she selects them knowing that every single last flower, petal and stem, is important…..the attention to detail and her commitment to giving her couples the very best is second to none! I love her arch, nothing standard about it, I have never seen one like this before….amazing. I believe in going above and beyond for my couples and love to work with professionals who share this common work ethic. Tasos Tsirtsis with LSM Entertainment is exactly this professional. Check out the lighting he installed for this couple….without all this lighting their first dance, the flowers, the entire property would have been, black….flat…and well….not very pretty…..The music he provides….I’ve heard no other DJ mix as well, read a crowd and keep the dance floor hopping as well as he does….amazing…it was a sensational team!
