Balboa Bay Club Wedding Mallory and Austin

ChristineBentleyPhotography_1938

If my poor little son didn’t require stitches over this holiday weekend, this blog post wouldn’t be so late! Late for me at least! Mallory and Austin went all out to celebrate their very amazing nautical themed wedding at the Balboa Bay Club! Thanks to an amazing team of professionals, this wedding was amazing! It had the most incredible details!

For Mallory, today was a celebration that brought back memories as a child, as her great grandmother’s birthday was on the 4th, and she even lived on Balboa Island where she would vacation with her family. So, what a great way to ring in the 4th, than with a wedding! She tugged at my heart with a warming memorial for her father who was watching her from the heavens above as she said I do to the man of her dreams. Even more tear jerking was her devotion from her two brothers who gave her away. The day was so wonderful. So full of emotion, and with a giant bridal party, it was totally fun! Thank you again to Kristine Andrews for being a great and wonderful second, and Alex Tsirtsis for being a spectacular assistant! Please enjoy the lovely photos of Mallory and Austin! XXOO

Caitlin And James Laguna Cliffs Marriott

ChristineBentleyPhotography_1841

There are those times when you can’t meet a couple before their wedding day. It happens, and it makes me sad, and truly a bit nervous. I like to get to know my couples but if the phone is all we’ve got, then I’ll take it! This wedding had a lot of moving parts, a ton of attendants in the wedding party, locations locations locations….and it was amazing! I walked into the bridal suite, FILLED with girls….WHERE? IS? CAITLIN? I asked….. she raised her hand, and there she was in the chair of Ella from Design Visage getting finishing touches on her amazing braided up do! Super sweet and super cute! OMG what a doll!
Then is was my turn to meet James and all his amazing groomsmen, again, what amazing people….and with all those men in uniform, I suddenly felt very safe! What a great group of gentlemen.

The mass was performed in the Basilica in San Juan Capistrano, and being Catholic myself, I love shooting here! So pretty! And of course that is all followed by shooting at the Mission, where Brian from Perrfyfield Films and I got to photograph and film this newly married couple. So sweet and kind…..we were both sad that this was most likely the only time we would be able to work with such an incredibly sweet pair!

The evening ended where is started at the Laguna Cliffs Marriott, with reception planning done by LVL Event’s Kerri Hatter. What a great night and a super fun couple! Congrats Caitlin and James! XXOO

Rob And Eddie Ritz Carlton Laguna Niguel

ChristineBentleyPhotography_1763

SO much to say it’s hard to know where to even begin. I guess I can start off with Kevin Covey. The meeting he arranged for me to meet Rob and Eddie is where it all started. Right AWAY, smiles, and joking around, in a very professional yet serious yet fun way. They sat close to each other, gently grasping a hand, a soft touch on the thigh and a lot of smiles. I thought to myself that any photographer would be crazy lucky to have the opportunity to photograph their wedding. I was so grateful when I got the call from Kevin, that I was the one chosen to do so.

We had two engagement photo sessions and this couple was my first same sex couple to ever photograph, and for just that alone I am very grateful. You see, with any couple, if there is no chemistry, if their love doesn’t flow natural, I can have my work cut our for me. As soon as we started, these gentlemen were 100% themselves and completely in love, not to mention totally hot, so it all came together in a super wonderful, natural, and honestly easy way. It takes no genius to feel what these two have between them. Truly they have a history of what has brought them together and the same is true for why they will always remain so; together.

So besides my wonderful experience photographing them…..I thankfully got a glimpse of what I can honestly say, are two of the most incredible people I think I have ever photographed. I mean, I have wonderful clients, I love my job, yet for many reasons I can say what I did in the prior sentence. I’m going to try, but I may not even do them justice. They hired me, and many others. Thats what happens with a wedding. Many see it as a job and others pour their heart into it. The team that Kevin put together, ALWAYS pours their heart into their work. I think Rob and Eddie, were the first to understand this….ultimately That just made us all want to do more for them. The entire team is so beyond gracious for these guys and the appreciation for what we did. Would we do anything less? Not for them, not for those smiles, those tears, that love, that sincerity. I would do it a million times over for them. I would do anything for these guys as well as the rest of the team. We work long hours, we miss our family, we are sometimes sick, tired, but all along we give 110%, when someone notices it…..it makes your heart smile! But beyond that thankfulness they shared, to be able to witness what we did on that day, was beyond words.

Two amazing guys, who love each other beyond measure, who have incredible friends who love them just as much. To witness this, I just can’t find words. I’m actually jealous. I want to have been a guest at their wedding, to celebrate them, to congratulate them. To hug them. Be their friend. Holding back tears is the hardest thing to do when you need to make your camera focus. I felt so much on this day. It’s hard when you have such amazing couples to remember that you are working, because you want to celebrate along side them. It’s hard not to involve yourself in conversation when two people as well as their friends make you feel so welcome. It’s hard to also know that this day is over, and their wedding is complete. It really is a strange feeling to be so deep with people and then say good bye, unless of course you are lucky enough to be their photographer and you get to continue to work with them through their photos. I do feel however that I met two people I will know for the rest of my life. I least I hope so. So genuine, so real and so amazing in every way. They are a blessing to anyone who meets them. Their kind hearts will melt you, inspire you and make you feel special, even when you first meet them. It’s such an honor to have been able to work with them. I’m so blessed and so lucky and I can’t wait to see them again. I can’t wait to design their book and can not wait to share their love in photos below!

Thank you to an amazing team put together by Kevin Covey for a wonderful, dreamy and incredible day! Kristine Andrews thank you for being a terrific and tireless second shooter! XXOO

  • You have done it again. Just when I thought that every single tear had rolled down my face, you have created yet another torrential downpour. In this world of superficial, shallow, egocentric and just rude people, we have found someone that is truly a wonderful soul. Someone with depth, character, drive and a heart of gold. We were all brought together for a reason, because every once in a while, people need to have a reality check that there are people who matter to one another. You are not just another photographer who is shooting just another wedding. From the first five minutes after we met you, both of us were confident that not only you were qualified for the job, but you were the one for us. We just clicked and when your gut tells you something is right, then I say go for it. The care of each photo session, the professionalism and most importantly the love you have shown us will never be taken for granted.

Christine Bentley, you are an amazing soul and we look forward to following your career as it blossoms. Most importantly, we look forward to sharing many more wonderful times together as we play in this game called life.

You are truly special to us and we will always remember how special you made us feel.

    We love you dearly,
Rob and Eddie and of course China.

  • What a beautiful testimony to a beautiful love these two share!!! Gorgeous photos, perfectly written blog post, and all the details are perfect!!!

Shutter On The Beach Wedding

ChristineBentleyPhotography_1662

“Mawridge, Mawridge is what brings us here today. And Wuv, twew Wuv….” you get the idea right? When Gulshen’s brother who was the officiant at this wedding opened with this, it was just another reason to totally adore this fun and very much in love couple. You know that weddings are supposed to be fun right? I mean, it’s a very serious day, but it’s also supposed to be about, THE COUPLE…about YOU, and your entire day should unfold just so, to reflect who you are! Gulshen and Rick had nothing short of the perfect day. Little details thought out, from the tequila, to the shoes, to the flowers. Lets talk about the flowers….please notice the flowers that my bride, chose to carry. I still forget their name, however Gulshen had a choice to carry this bouquet, or another peony filled bouquet…..she chose simple. At first I didn’t understand, but it actually just reminded me, that this day is supposed to reflect who these two are, who my bride is. She chose to go simple, yet wear a couture gown….speaks volumes. She is simple, elegant and beautifully chaotic….stunning and proper, and wild all in one. Intelligent and full of giggles. I love that she chose her bouquet, over the “fancier” version. I also love Rick’s choice in engagement rings, notice, it’s not a diamond but a beautiful blue sapphire. Oh…..did you see his custom made tux and his amazing shoes! So much fun, so much love and I totally adored every part of celebrating with this couple….and thank you so much for having a chocolate tasting bar…cause…I totally tasted!

Of course it takes an amazing team for an amazing event and I want to thank them all. Especially Kristine Andrews for once again being an amazing second shooter and the team of Moments by Wayne! Wayned Gurnick, you produced a flawless event and can’t wait till next time my friend!
